My story
I am one of the few people I know who actively sought out a career in recruitment. I’ve always loved meeting new people which I get to do every day, as well as learn about a variety of different organisations and what or who makes them tick. Perhaps because of this, I was drawn early on to HR as a discipline and now have over 10 years’ experience successfully placing individuals from HR operators to Global HR leaders. I’ve developed a great network building long term relationships as a result of my consultative, pragmatic and honest style and staying true to my personal values. I joined Savannah after several years with a leading independent boutique HR recruitment business, prior to that I led the HR practice for a boutique financial services search firm.
My focus
During the last 10 years the HR function has evolved significantly and continues to be on a fascinating journey, it’s great to be part of getting to know and sourcing the best HR talent to continue to drive this evolution in businesses trying to get ahead in today’s frenetic pace of change. Understanding the importance of identifying cultural fit and softer relationship and influencing skills is what resonates with me and the more understanding I have gained, the more I realise why HR search is the perfect fit.
Naomi and Lisa understood from the first day what I was looking for in a new HR Director – they were incredibly focused on finding the absolute best candidates for that role. I have worked with several executive search agencies and I was particularly impressed by how absolutely straightforward, to-the-point and incisive they were. Their expertise in this field was invaluable and the result we ended up with was even better than I had hoped for. I would unreservedly recommend them to others.

My motivation
I genuinely am fascinated by people and my role provides new opportunities to meet, understand and help support a variety of interesting individuals to achieve their own career development goals whilst supporting organisations to build upon their future success. It really helps that I find HR and the variety of specialisms and amount of change equally interesting. I love learning and can say that I think I learn something new from every person I meet in the function.
It’s important for me to work as part of a tight knit, collaborative team with strong values and a true sense of purpose who also pride themselves on the delivery of an outstanding customer experience. As an entrepreneurial spirit, I’m drawn to growing and evolving businesses where my contribution can make a real difference. It is both awe-inspiring and incredibly humbling that I get to support people every day with some of the most life-changing decisions they will make and I really do take this responsibility very seriously.
Why I like working at Savannah
Savannah’s strong values and vision alongside the uniquely collaborative and supportive culture were critical factors for me. I was also specifically drawn to the HR practice, for the opportunity to be part of a fantastic team with an industry leading reputation for customer experience. I enjoy working with a team who truly challenge and enable me to deliver my best and share the same values of empathy and integrity. The opportunity to be an early part of what promises to be a great global growth story, with the existing relationships and reputation of the firm and the greater flexibility and agility is truly unique. The focus of investing in technology and digitalization and not just embracing it but actively leading disruptive change in executive search is exciting.
