We have launched a new Board Quarterly report to provide some informed commentary about appointments to the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 boards.
Our report confirms that gender diversity dominates, but only at the non-executive level. A deeper look shows clearly that the gender diversity targets for the boardroom are being met by appointing women to the non-executive roles leaving men to absolutely dominate the executive director appointments. While women might have a much greater say in governance, men still dominate the strategy execution! This represents a challenge to boards and HR leadership and there is no short term fix.
