Assistant Financial Controller

Leah is the Assistant Financial Controller at Savannah Group.

My story 

I have worked in finance since 2015. Whilst studying Business, my first finance position was a temporary role for a payroll & compliance company. I then moved to a recruitment company where my duties involved payroll, accounts and general office management. Sometimes I even helped with placing temporary workers. I then moved to the Interior Design industry, where I worked as an Accounts Receivable clerk. The role developed onto Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable manager. I joined Savannah as assistant Financial Controller in late 2022. I can see a huge opportunity to learn a wide range of new skills in this role and am very excited for what the future holds.

My focus

My role involves supporting the head of finance by ensuring the smooth running of the department. Working with the finance team and wider company on various tasks throughout the month. This includes payment runs, Payroll, invoicing, side projects and soon to be reporting. Whilst studying towards my CIMA qualification, I am also planning to advance my current skills in Excel and Power BI so that I can implement these skills in my work.

My motivation
