MY STORY

On graduating, I was one of only five graduates to be picked for the graduate scheme of global PR and communications firm Burson-Marsteller and joined their corporate practice. I soon realised that whilst I enjoyed the media world, being a spin doctor wasn’t my natural gift (!). I then spent some time working in the HR function of a management consultancy, before being approached by a boutique search firm specialising in HR. Since then, I have happily enjoyed a career identifying great HR talent for clients in a wide range of sectors from consumer goods to telecoms to insurance and many others.

MY FOCUS

Whilst I have hired HR talent for clients in a wide range of sectors, I particularly enjoy working with clients in the consumer goods sector. With a customer always at the heart of what they do, they tend to be responsive, commercially minded, and keen to innovate. I have also enjoyed working with clients with a global workforce and addressing the challenges of engaging and developing a workforce in different territories, with different time zones and cultures. I am C o E agnostic however, and genuinely enjoy working to identify a top reward leader one week, and a Head of Talent Management the next.

MY MOTIVATION

It’s pretty simple! I just genuinely love helping people find a job they love to do and get energy from and huge pleasure in finding the perfect match between a candidate and client. For me it isn’t just a transaction, it’s a career decision which can have many implications, and I take that responsibility seriously.

WHY I LIKE WORKING AT SAVANNAH

Savannah hire individuals that have great networks and expertise but who work as a team. There is a huge amount of cross collaboration and support and everyone strives to help each other do the best job possible. As a culture it’s collegiate in focus – the sort of culture that aligns to how I like to work.
