Story
After studying Chinese and Spanish at the University of Leeds and spending a period teaching English abroad, I began my career in executive search focused on retail and consumer.
I developed my craft across a mix of leading global firms and specialist boutiques, delivering senior appointments in the UK and internationally. A defining part of my journey was moving in-house to lead executive search at Debenhams during a period of turnaround and digital transformation, giving me a first-hand view of what great leadership looks like from the inside.
That combination of external search and in-house experience continues to shape how I work today, with a strong focus on the commercial impact of leadership, not just the hire itself.
Focus
At Savannah Group, I focus on senior technology, digital and data leadership roles across a wide range of sectors, although much of my work remains in consumer facing businesses. I spend most of my time with CIOs, CTOs and CDIOs working through how their functions are actually driving growth, where it is landing well and where it is not. I find and secure the technology, digital and data leadership that helps them scale for the future.
I spent time in-house leading executive search at a major international department store business, so I tend to look at these roles from a commercial and operating perspective, not just a hiring one, and I am always interested in how different organisations are making that shift from enablement to real commercial impact.
My motivation
I am happiest when a client is delighted with the quality of a shortlist and thrilled with the hire, but also when they say it has been a great experience working with us.
